During Active Aging Week in September, Community Life Associates Juli and Renee, took Springs and Gardens residents out fishing. In October, Juli and two Springs residents decided to sneak out one last time while the weather was nice! Even though they didn't catch anything the residents had a wonderful time!

September 23rd through September 29th was Active Aging Week. The Village at Legacy Pointe celebrated by hosting various activities for the residents to showcase that being active does not have to be restricted by your age or ability level! Check out some of the fun stuff we did this week!
The Gardens residents made an outing to a local animal shelter to see all the animals, it was a fun outing for them all!

The Town Center residents, from our independent living neighborhood, are enjoying our monthly breakfast outing! Currently we have 3, but we are hoping to continue to grow the group. This month we tried Jimmy's Egg, next month we plan to go to IHOP!
Residents from The Gardens and The Town Center visited the Iowa State Historical Museum on Wednesday January 31st. The museum features 3 stories filled with the history of Iowa. We only made it through the first story, so we are planning a trip back in the near future!
Residents from The Town Center, Inn, Springs and Gardens bundled up and went for an afternoon outing to the Botanical Center. The residents enjoyed seeing the beautiful array of flowers and plants that the botanical center has to offer.
In mid December, residents of The Village at Legacy Pointe traveled to a nearby church to participate in the second annual Bean Bag Baseball World Series. The residents enjoyed a nice outing to the Festival of Trees and Lights on Friday November 24th, 2017. The residents got to view various beautifully decorated Christmas Trees as we walked around the convention center.
The residents of The Village at Legacy Pointe took a trip to Johnston, IA to visit the Military Museum. Several residents in attendance were also veterans, or spouses of veterans, and enjoyed viewing the variety of displays that the museum had to offer.

Residents made two trips to a local Waukee daycare where they spent time reading to 4 and 5 year olds. The children were so excited for the residents to read to them that they could hardly sit still.
