November’s Thriving Resident – Leonard O’Hair

Leonard O’Hair, Springs resident, is thriving!  Leonard grew up in Centerville, IA and attended high school there.  After graduation, Leonard attended the University of Iowa on scholarship for playing the trumpet, and obtained a Business degree, graduating in 1959. During his time at the University of Iowa, Leonard was lucky enough to be able to play and march in the Rose Bowl Parade.  Quite the honor for any U of I student!

Leonard married Linda in 1983.  He has 2 sons, Greg and Jeff, and 2 step-daughters, Lori and Kathy.  Leonard and Linda have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and are very involved within that community.  They also enjoy attending the Parkinson’s Disease Support Group’s at Legacy Pointe, which are scheduled for the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 3:30pm.  Linda is also very involved in other support groups outside of Legacy Pointe and has even helped host the meeting here from time to time.

Leonard loves getting involved in activities at Legacy Pointe, most commonly you will see him at exercise, card games, bingo, and music.  Leonard and Linda enjoyed attending the Legacy Pointe Prom earlier this year, and Leonard particularly enjoyed going out fishing in October with Community Life Associate, Juli.

Leonard is a great example of what it is to THRIVE here at Legacy Pointe and we are very happy to have him here with us.
